Transphorm Announces Leadership Transition

 Mike White to Remain on the GaN Semiconductor Company’s Board of Directors

GOLETA, Calif.—July 13, 2017—Transphorm Inc., the leader in the design and manufacturing of JEDEC-qualified 650V gallium nitride (GaN) semiconductors, announced that Mike White will step down from his role as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, continuing to serve on Transphorm’s Board of Directors. His responsibilities will be temporarily assumed by Marc Murphy, Director of Sales, and Philip Zuk, Senior Director of Technical Marketing. Transphorm will announce a permanent appointment as appropriate.

Mr. White joined Transphorm in 2015 from the board of KKR, the global investment firm that led the GaN manufacturer’s last funding round. He brought with him over 25 years of cross-disciplined, executive experience in the semiconductor industry. Initially seated as a Board member the intended charge was the SVP role, as part of the company’s strategy to build out its sales and marketing resources as its high voltage GaN technology readied for market expansion.

His primary objectives included establishing and building out a go-to-market and customer design resources team, creating effective business processes, and generating a healthy customer pipeline. Additionally, Mr. White focused his team on developing key customer opportunities in targeted application areas, demonstrating the importance of GaN’s to the future of power electronics.
